OMBUDSMAN DR. JASMINKA DŽUMHUR TALKED TO THE FOUNDER OF WOMEN4NONVIOLENCE
The Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Jasminka Džumhur, held a meeting with Betsy Kawamura, the founder of "Women4NonViolence in Peace+Conflict Zones", today in the Sarajevo Regional Office. The topic of discussion was sexual and gender-based violence based on gender.
During the meeting, ombudsman Džumhur informed the guest about the work of the Human Rights Ombudsman Institution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in particular about the part related to protection against discrimination.
Ms. Kawamura thanked for the reception, exchange of opinions and information she received on this occasion from the ombudsman Dr. Jasminka Džumhur.

Being a Japanese-American Human Rights Activist Internationally
On this virtual presentation entitled "Being a Japanese-American Human Rights Activist Internationally: The Power of Arts and Culture in Bridging Communities" , Betsy Kawamura and Dr. Maya Soetoro at University of Hawaii, Manoa discuss the challenges of being a human rights activist internationally. Ms Kawamura graduated from the University of Hawaii, then received her MBA in San Francisco. Afterwards, she moved across the ocean to Norway, launching her engagement in women's rights and human rights issues, especially for North Asian survivors.
